Here’s a fairly compelling demo of why it’s a bad idea to use the long form format (dd MM yyyy) for dates--notably when creating folders, for example. (All done in Javascript so make sure it is enabled.)

- The ‘[numeric]’ column has the dates in the form of ‘mm-dd’; the others are in the form of ‘dd MM’.
- To reduce clutter, you can click on the language names to toggle the display of their respective columns (except the numeric one).
- If you’re using IE, you’ll get the nice visuals with version 9 but somehow slower performance than with version 8.
- This page can be slow on mobile devices, especially when toggling the high-lights (it takes about 2-3 seconds).
